What is the info on "Boston" speakers? I'm getting ready to have the stock speakers replaced in my car, and I was looking at a set of Boston 5"x7" (for the doors) that come with the little tweet that will be mounted where the side view mirrors mount. Then I was going to have another set of Boston 5"x7" (three way) placed in the back). What is the verdict on these speakers? Thumbs up, thumbs down...let me know. http://discussanything.com/Ubb/biggrin.gif
This is going to go along with the 10" JL Audio 10" and Kenwood 100 watt amp I have in the trunk....and I'm also putting in a new Alpine receiver by the way....not looking to be the guy with the most bass....just want something that is going to be loud and clear.
I'll take opinions on the over all setup I'm thinking of too if you wish to share. http://discussanything.com/Ubb/biggrin.gif

I dunno, I have stocdk Mach 460 speaks that rock. One whoofer in the back in getting a little fried though. I have a JVC CD player that rocks too. When putting in my rollbar in I saw why stereo sounds so sweet. Behind the backseat are two big 460 factory AMPs!

Boston's stuff is excellent. They & MBQuart are the best of the budget high-end stuff. I'd do my best to stay away from oval speakers. If it's possible, mount a 5.25" in a custom plate.

Well I bought the car used, and it didn't come with the Mach 460...so I'm kind of putting together my own http://discussanything.com/Ubb/biggrin.gif
tweeters in the lil rear view mirror thingy....new door speakers, 3 ways in the rear, and a 10" in the trunk with amp...oh, and the Alpine head unit...should sound good (I hope)

I Run a 5"1/4 Boston Component set in the front of my car (5 1/4" in the door, tweeter in the dash, comes with a cross over) .... You will get the best sound quality with a component set.
I run Boston 5x7" (I think it's 5x7") 3-way speakers in the back (the 3way's do not have a remote mounted tweeter, like the components do)
I run 3 JL 10w6's in the trunk, with two Alpine Amps (75watts max going to each of the four high's and Mids, and 600+watts going mono into the 3 10w6's (bridged to 3ohms))
Kenwood Excelon head unit, and a pioneer EQ …… the shit will get unbearably loud when turned up, I recommend the Boston/JL combo. Just make sure you have enough power going to them (I’m thinking about upgrading the amp I’m using for the Highs/Mids)
