I have yet to visit one. The closest locations are in Manhattan. Not sure what their strategy is in setting up so many in Manhattan and nothing so far in the commuter towns.

Chipotle tastes great. The reason why it tastes great is the average burrito is over 1200 calories and over 50 grams of fat. Enjoy.

It doesn't have to be that bad though.

I get the Burrito Bol, skip the fatty shit (cheese and guac, you can't taste it anyway when everything is all mixed together, although I can't say no to sour cream) and it's only 650 calories...add in the factor that it's huge and I can't eat it all at once it makes two meals for me at around 325 calories...not bad at all. sodium on the other hand is high regardless of what you order.

I lurve the steak burrito bol

Tally, that's true, but your type of order isn't common. Most orders (even the bols) have cheese, guac and sour cream. And they eat the whole thing.

The fat IS the good stuff. You can leave the beans and rice, empty carbs for the most part. :P Avocado is a great sourse of good fats too.

I always have the veggie fajita burrito, no cheese, no sour cream, no guac.

Steak bol for me, no cheese, guac or sourcreme...three kinds of salsa-- mmmmm
Who cares about how many damned calories there are...I leave that to the waif models.

You and I order the exact same thing when we go, right down to the 3 kinds of salsa! (I sometimes get sour cream though...)

I don't necessarily think the fat is "the good stuff." My favorite part is the steak, pico de gallo and corn salsa. YUM!

And beans an "empty carb"...where are you getting your info hon? Beans are incredibly healthy for you, they have loads of protein and fiber as well as calcium, potassium, thiamin, zinc, iron, folate and riboflavin, plus they are naturally low in fat with zero saturated fat. They are by no means "empty."

I love guac but am sorely disappointed by the stuff made at Chipotle, it's really the only complaint I have about them. There is guac is nearly flavorless so I figure what's the point? Maybe if I harass them enough about it they will change their recipe and give it some zip, I could start a petition! :D

Whoa, cheese is not the good stuff, and beans are not empty carbs, beans are excellent sources of fiber and nutrients, black beans being the best.

Rice is fine as long as it's brown, the white rice is crap. Avocado's have the kind of fats you'd want to consume, not cheese.

I don't eat at Chipolte since the last time I went my bean and rice burrito was about 90% rice, and their salsa selection sucks, and you have to ask them for it or you get a dry, tasteless burrito. Yuck..

Baja Fresh rules..

You have to tell them everything you want...that's the point of walking along your item and them asking what you want in it... As for proportions- that depends on the worker- it's different every time I go.

Bleh to Baja Fresh!

I do low carb eating, the main reason I think carbs are yuck and fat rules! 60 lbs lost on a diet comprising of 70% fat tells me what the good stuff really is. :nice:

Blasphemy! Baja Fresh is pretty good, they are about 5,739,540 times better than taco Bell.:blas:

The best Mexican food around here is at a place called Baja Sonora, although their food is pretty greasy..

Uh, the first time I went there they didn't tell me anything, I didn't know you had to ask them for salsa, I got my burrito and went looking for the salsa bar only to find sliced limes, napkins, and salt and pepper packets, and they don't give you much once you do ask:not:. The Burrito tasted like carboard, no flavor, I'll take Baja Fresh anyday, they are ten times better!!:nice:

I don't see how this happened...as you can't just say "I want a burrito" then somehow magically end up at the register 15 ft away and PAST all the ingredients...they need to know each and every ingredient from the customer...it's made right in front of you...weirdness.

Like I said, I'd never been there before, I thought there was a salsa bar, they did not ask me if I wanted any salsa, and the salsa they do have sucks, once you ask for some.. What is hard to believe about that?????
