We're having Thanksgiving at my place this year and my nephew is allergic to nuts, eggs and dairy....the regular meal I have down pat without any of those ingredients but baking without those is a little tougher....what can anybody suggest for dessert?

(and it doesn't necessarily have to be traditional)

OK OK OK...

How about this: Fruit filled calzone with a sugared crust.

You could make the dough sweet by adding honey and serve your nephews dessert with caramel sauce and everyone else can have ice cream.

Being a vegetarian and living in Texas makes this holiday kinda unappealing. If I don't spend it with friends then I get to listen to distant family members criticize my lifestyle and tell me how I won't live to see 50 if I don't stuff my face with turkey. *vomit* It's cranberry sauce sandwiches for me. Which isn't so bad. Actually it's kinda good. More room for pumpkin cheesecake :)

OK OK OK...

Scratch the calzone idea.

You can make regular pie pastry without butter. Just substitute lard (Crisco) and make an apple pie...or a cherry pie...or a rhubarb pie.

Mmmmm...pie.:nice:

Not really. I just came up with the idea for Tally. I could come up with one but it would be experimental and I couldn't guarantee the results.

Since I'm not allergic to any foods I'd probably just use puff pastry.
