seekerofvisions 11-01-2007, 06:11 PM i dont like movies like Saw, Hellraiser, etc. anything that's to do with serial killers doesn't interest me. psychologically scary movies really bother me.
i think the movies that have scared me the most are religiously based horror movies. not because religion scares me, but i was brought up in a religious household and these sorts of movies scared me the most.
the omen (all of them)
exorcist (only saw the first one)
outside of those movies, the ones that scared me and i actually managed to sit through are:
carrie
amityville horror (older cousins who insisted that the classics are worth watching influenced my watching these)
bram stoker's dracula (freaked me the hell out)
my brain froze.
that, in itself, is scary.
Tally 11-01-2007, 11:00 PM Ooh, I loved Brahm Stoker's Dracula! very creepy.
jwreck 11-01-2007, 11:12 PM I'm not really big on scary movies. I remember Amytville scared the shit out of me when I was a kid. So did the Exorcist.
jeremix 11-02-2007, 03:02 PM Evil dead really creeped me out when i was young.
Dogberry 11-02-2007, 03:20 PM Jaws - The bit when they are talking about the USS Indianapolis, that and the head out of the boat bit.
Saw it when it came out. brilliant.
Shadoglare 11-02-2007, 03:35 PM I like fun, kinda creepy, and sometimes stuff jumps out at you and goes BOO type movies. Just about anything from Dark Castle seems to fall into this category.
I seriously hate gore-fest movies and would not miss them at all if they were to totally go away.

An American Werewolf in London.
Terrapin 11-03-2007, 05:08 PM I wouldn't call these my favorite....but they were definitly scary/disturbing
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original 1973 version)
House of 1000 Corpses
Saw
Cain Fever (don't ever watch this movie on acid 'cause it's like really bad and stuff:|)
as for favorites that I actually can watch over again..

Amityville Horror
Stephen King's Silver Bullet
The Exorcist
30 Days of Night
Terrapin 11-03-2007, 05:09 PM An American Werewolf in London.

Spazola 11-03-2007, 11:38 PM 30 Days of Night

enkahootz 11-04-2007, 03:38 PM never read the book, but I wasn't a fan of the movie... actually, I was kind of disappointed in it.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original 1973 version)
one of the the best movies, EVER.
86Dude 11-08-2007, 03:55 PM 1. Signs
2. The Evil Dead
3. The original Hills have eyes
4. The Blair Witch Project.
5. Dawn of the dead, modern version.
6. The exorcist
Kevin 11-09-2007, 01:47 PM Cannibal Holocaust
Psycho
Evil Dead
Jaws
Maniac Cop
Night Of The Living Dead (Original/Remake)
86Dude 11-09-2007, 02:14 PM Never seen Cannibal Holocaust or even heard of it.
Kevin 11-10-2007, 02:39 AM It's only one of the more controversial horror films out there. :p
I'd advise never watching it if you can't take animal deaths. Real animals are killed on-screen.
medlar 11-14-2007, 01:05 PM Black Water
The Ring..Ringu is better
The Shining..though it should have stuck to the book more.
28 days later because it could happen..
Exorcist..classic
Silent Hill..the game itself is pretty frightening
Jaws
Jacob's Ladder
HellRaiser series..Clive Barker knows the business.
Wolf Mountain..doesn't have all the supernatural stuff but a deranged Aussie Bushman.
And then. I watched this one called Labyrinth..thinking it about the most bizarrest piece of film until this dude really made my night complete.

Saison 11-14-2007, 01:25 PM And then. I watched this one called Labyrinth..thinking it about the most bizarrest piece of film until this dude really made my night complete.
Labryinth was one of my favorite movies growing up. David Bowie's codpiece was definitely burned into my memory, though. Even to this day, I'm aversive to men in tight pants. :|
medlar 11-15-2007, 12:07 PM But thats definitely not David Bowie! This film was actually called Pan's Labyrinth.
medlar 11-15-2007, 01:30 PM Damn x
This guy..
