The drill instructors tell you to stay hydrated, if you fail to do that, you're in big trouble. I think this guy was bullshitting though. He told the corpsman he felt fine as soon as everyone was done. How convenient.

I'M GONNA GET THE GODDAM TRAINING OUT OF YOUR ASS!!!!! YOU OWE ME THAT COURSE TIMES 10!!!! YOU UNDERSTAND THAT!!!!

Get away before you get murdered.

Yup. I did.
I think it's a good experience for any young man. Toughens you up and instills discipline.

True. It's not for everyone. You almost have to be masochistic to sign up for that kind of abuse.

I think the instructor has watched Full metal Jacket too many times.

It's just as harsh as FMJ, but I don't see much similarity in method. The video is pretty typical of what most everyone receives at some point during basic training. What he received is nothing unusual. I got the same thing a couple times myself albeit for different reasons.

i had the pleasure of having the same drill sergeants for my entire training, as combat arms in the army do 'one station unit training instead of going somewhere else for AIT. they were the finest soldiers i knew during my enlistment, and they were unbelievably funny. they could have been comedians.
