I have heard from guy friends, that calling within the next two days is not recommended, according to their failure rate when they would do that.

However, I myself (as a girl) don't think that it should matter. If the girl really likes you, she will be waiting for that call impatiently. When there is amazing chemistry, calling the same night, for example, could be considered a crazy, romantic gesture. One that would surprise her, but in a good way. People who rely on convention, or dating books for this kind of advice, are lame. But such is the nature of people. :shrug:

"I'll hold off for a few days so that she doesn't think I'm desparate" type of thinking is good if you were hitting on a girl who is insensitive, ego-centrical, demanding and spends too much time reading teenage magazines that print articles with titles such as: "Six signs you are dating a loser".

For me, it depends on circumstances. Sometimes I got a girl's number because she and I were in a really interesting conversation and we wanted to continue it after we left the party, so I called her a couple hours later and we kept talking.

Another time, I got a girl's number and waited until I actually had something going on to invite her to.

That's why you MAKE a plan before you call. Find a day when you're not busy, decide on something to do together that day, and call her up and ask her. Women like a man who's not afraid to make the decisions.

right, that's what i'm saying, why text, when you can talk on the phone.

BTW, no games are involved here, I was just wondering how long either person, guy or girl waits to make that first phone call bc of the butterflies or whatever...we have each others numbers, it wasn't like a one way thing.

lol, true on both counts. getting a text or two, or even a handful a day are awesome, like saying "i'm thinking of you" " i hope your day is going good" etc, but getting just text's can get old. I like hearing the persons voice as well, moreso if it's someone you have romantic feelings for.

Yeah, I enjoy talking on the phone sometimes if it's the right person. Texts are just so much easier to manage though...

I'm impulsive. I'll call the next day. I'll also do what Monster said and have a reason to call. ;) I'll have figured out something to invite them to, or something that pertains to what we talked about, and I'll call them pretty soon.

In the latest incidence, I kinda brushed him off, and he didnt get my texts later that evening, (he came over for a bbq and I was thanking him for stopping by) but I called the next day and we ended up making plans to hang out the following day.

I like to make sure the ball is in my court, I'm too impulsive to wait for a guy to call, ...they wait for the PERFECT time to call, I come up with a good reason so it's the perfect time to call. :D
