Whether these are the most intelligent measures or not is not the question. They show that European countries are starting to set limits and boundaries.

As for the violence of muslim youths in France, before the globalisation of terrorism-phobia, the problem of French suburban youth was not at all delineated in terms of religion.
It was well understood that criminal youth from these areas simply represented the demographic there: plenty of Europeans and Africans, but a large, large amount of North Africans too, perhaps a majority. The problem was understood to be inherent in the way these ghettos were designed, in the way French society approaches foreigners and in the way North African culture interacts with French culture.
On the whole, those with objectivity recognized that the fact that there were so few problems was something to be glad for, and a sign that despite the challenges of different cultures living in the same nation, and despite the shared history of war and colonial imperialism, the vast majority of people were able to live side by side in peace and collaboration.

And time and time again, the passing of time sees this new group find its place within the fabric of society after the initial growing pains. Yes, this means change. Yes, it means a certain degree of hardship. Vindex and those who think like him seem to operate from the principle that someone promised them life would be easy.
